How many teachers and students in your school?

I am sure that everyone is anxious about the school that they are posted too. Personally, I am too anxious. I tried to google on every tiny bits of information regarding my school. I search from directory, maps, blogs, websites and even facebook. I guess the little information gives me a small view on how is my school and what expectation I should have regarding it.

Besides, the address and phone number of the school, I am super curious how big is the school in term of number of student and teachers. I happened to stumble upon this websites recommended by my friend. You should check it out too!!

Criteria to rent a house

The idea of getting a house to rent is not easy, but when you have the choice to choose which do you prefer? I came up with some personal preference that might suit you or not.

  • History of the place. I meant is the house haunted or not. I know it seldom happened, but just as a reminder.
  • How much it costs. As a beginning teacher with an unknown salary, I think we must really look upon this aspect. Houses near the town cost more than in rural places, I think. Budget is very important.
    • Remember to ask whether the utilities bill is included or excluded from the house rent.
  • Location. Where is your house situated? In my opinion, somewhere convenient and not far away from your school should be good. Is the residential area safe?
  •  What is the feature of the house?
    •  You have to look at the type of house, whether it is a terrace house, flat, or other choices.
    • Does it provide parking for those that have a car?
    • Does the house come with furniture and other electrical appliances?  This can help in saving a lot of money to buy necessary furniture.
    • How many toilets do the house has?
    • Can you cook in the house?
    • Is the house safe?
    • How many months of deposits that you need to pay in advance?
  • Residents. Who stays in the house is important if you are sharing the house. Who stays in the neighborhood is important. It is a matter of safety as well as staying at ease.
That is something that I can think of currently; do give suggestion if you have others.

Apply for KWSP

Hello everyone. Do you have a KWSP account for your posting purpose?

If you don't I am here to give you some simple guide. Trust me it is so easy, they are so efficient. My friend went there and it takes around 5 minutes and it's done. There is a few ways, but my suggestion for something faster.

First, go to the KWSP websites to download the registration form. It should look like the picture below. After downloading, print it out and fill in all the particular information.

Second, visit the nearest KWSP branch with your registration form. You can check out the available branch here.

Third, the officer there will help you out.

Anyway if you prefer Bahasa Melayu version please read from here.

Getting A Place to Stay

I am sure that many of us faced this problem. Having to find a stay upon one week before working in a new environment is not easy. I am glad that I made a call to the school, upon knowing the school I was posted to. Thank God, the headmistress of my school is so kind and nice. So she even suggested a place for me to stay with all the related phone number.

So if you have problem finding a place to stay, there is something I suggest:

  • Call up the school to ask. They are most likely kind enough to offer some suggestions, or better still quarters.
  • Get a place near the school, maybe ask from someone you knew (relatives or friends) that stay there.
  • Check out facebook, group IPG . There seem to people willing to rent out their place and looking for house mate.
  • Look for advertisement (this is hard though).

Checklist for posting

I am so glad that I was posted to a school accessible by road alone. Good news is I can carry a lot of things in my car to bring over there. That means less spending on buying new things and necessities. However, it is reminded that some things are better off buying over there then bring them over. This is applicable to easily available things such as food and toiletries. Items that costs a lot is much better bring from home. I am rather poor now, so I prefer to safe my money. I hope my suggestion as below might help you in packing. I f you have any suggestion do comment and tell me. Thank you for your help.
